ITINERARY AND INFOS

Through cooperation between the Association of Xingu Indigenous Communities, the Brazilian Government through IBAMA and FUNAI, this protected area covers more than 3 million equitars of virgin waters, boasting an incredible diversity of species of fishes and fauna.

Xingu Experience

Arrival at Agua Boa MT airport. Our representative will be waiting for you at Frederico Carlos Muller Municipal Airport (SWHP). Transfer from the airport to a second aircraft bound for Lodge Xingu Experience Iptase Kuikuro.

Upon arriving at the Lodge Xingu Experience, you will be taken from the airstrip via UTV vehicles to your accommodation. Afterwards, a reception awaits you in the Lodge's comfortable lounge. After enjoying a cold drink and lunch, you can relax and enjoy the amenities at Xingu Experience. It's a good time for a rest.

Each day the teams will fish in one of the predetermined sectors of the Koluene River, its tributaries and lagoons, with a professional fishing guide and a local indigenous guide in boats specially designed for sport fishing.

05 passengers board the Beechcraft Baron plane and head straight to the Xingu Experience in the Ipatse Kuikuro village (approx. 60 min flight).

At around 5:00 pm, fishermen and visitors will be introduced to the entire Lodge Xingu Experience crew and the guides will give a brief explanation about the daily fishing plans, fishing strategies and schedule for the week, wildlife and culture and indigenous experiences. . After dinner, which will be served at 8pm, you can organize your fishing equipment for the next day.

DAY 02 TO 07

TRAVEL NEEDS

VACINE

The Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate is no longer necessary to enter indigenous territory in Brazil. Vaccination is just a suggestion, but no longer a requirement

HEALTH INSURANCE

We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance that covers medical contingencies and cancellation for any reason.

BAGGAGE

Do not bring unnecessary weight 

AZUL's allowance is 23kgs per person. Extra weight will be charged separately by the airline

WEATHER

The weather can be considerably hot. Midday temperatures in the Amazon can easily reach 40 degrees.

CATCH AND RELEASE

Carocinho Araguaia
 All fish caught must be released without exception and avoid unnecessary handling of the fish. The operational regulations of the Xingu Experience is prohibit the use of double or triple hooks (garateias). Only a single hook is permitted. Barbless hooks are not mandatory. Handling these fish requires caution, not only to avoid injuring them, but also to prevent injury to yourself.
